Today is President’s Day . . . a day when we honor presidents past and present. We’ve talked and read a lot about Presidents Washington and Lincoln. They are two of our most famous presidents, but are famous for different reasons. Choose one of them and tell me what you remember about why they are so famous.
Hoy es el Día de los Presidentes . . . un día cuando honramos presidentes del pasado y presente. Hemos hablado y leído mucho acerca de los presidentes Washington y Lincoln. The three parts of the federal government are the Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court. Tell me at least two things about each of these parts of government. Then tell me how they are alike and how they are different. If you could work in one of the three parts of the federal government, tell me which one you would choose and why.

This month is Black History Month. Black History Month was created to honor African-Americans who have made a difference and helped others throughout history. Some of the famous African-Americans we have discussed include Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, George Washington Carver, and Louis Armstrong. If you could meet one of these people, who would it be? Why? What would you ask them? What would you tell them about how America is different now than it was when they lived here.
Este mes es el de La Herencia de Afro-Americanos. La Herencia de Afro-Americanos fue creada para honrar al afro-americano que ha hecho una diferencia y ha ayudado a los demás en el pasado. Algunos de los famosos afro-americanos que hemos discutido incluyen a Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, George Washington Carver, y Louis Armstron.
