University Bound

Last weekend was a fun one!  I got to hang out with some of my friends on Saturday to work on my scrapbook.  I organized all my pictures so that I can work on some pages next time we get together.  Then I went to my friend’s house to hang out some more.  On Sunday I went to my parent’s house for dinner.  Going to their house is always fun because we talk and laugh a lot!  I wish we had three days on the weekend, because I wanted more time to relax and play!

El fin de semana pasado fue uno muy divertido.  Pasé el día el sábado con mis amigas trabajando en mi album de fotos.  Organizé mis fotos para estar lista la próxima vez que nos juntamos poder trabajar mejor.  De ahí me fui a casa de mi amiga para visitar mas todavía.  El domingo me fui a cenar en casa de mis padres.  Siempre es divertido ir a casa de ellos porque nos ponemos a reír y hablar un montón.  Quisiera que los fines de semana fueran de tres días porque ¡yo quería más tiempo para relajar y jugar!

What a surprise to find snow outside yesterday morning.  It was an even bigger surprise when school got canceled!  For me it was nice because I had been sick for four days, so the snow day meant that I could stay home in bed and rest for another day.  I thought about my students the whole time, wondering if they were playing outside in the snow.  Tell me all about it.  If you didn’t play outside, tell me about what you did instead. 

Que sorpresa encontrar a la nieve afuera ayer.  Mayor sorpresa era que cancelaron la escuela!  Para mi era bueno porque me había pasado cuatro días enferma, y el día de nieve quería decir que me podía quedar en cama descansando por un día mas.  Pasé todo el día pensando en mis alumnos, queriendo saber si estaban jugando afuera en la nieve.  ¡Cuéntamelo todo!  Si no jugaste afuera, cuéntame de lo que hiciste en lugar.

I had a super weekend!  Saturday was Three Kings Day and I got to spend it with my family and friends.  We had a party that night where we honored the kings by saying a prayer and singing songs.  Then I read The Three Wise Kings to the kids and explained the Puerto Rican tradition.  And do you know what?  The Three Kings came!  They gave a present to each of the kids at the party.  The rest of the night we ate and danced and had a lot of fun!!!

Yo pasé super bien el fin de semana.  El sábado fue el Día de los Reyes y lo pasé con mi familia y mis amistades.  Tuvimos una fiesta para honrar a los Reyes orando y cantando villancicos.  Entonces yo les leí el libro de Los Tres Reyes a los niños y les expliqué la tradición puertorriqueña.  Y ¿saben qué?  ¡Vinieron los Reyes!  Dieron un regalo a cada niño en la fiesta.  Por el resto de la noche ¡comimos y bailamos y nos divertimos un montón!
